CVSS v3.1 |
| Xenorate versions up to and including 2.50, a Windows-based multimedia player, is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow when processing .xpl playlist files. The application fails to properly validate the length of input data, allowing an attacker to craft a malicious .xpl file that overwrites the Structured Exception Handler (SEH) and enables arbitrary code execution. Exploitation requires local interaction, typically by convincing a user to open the crafted file. |
| The NextEPC MME <= 1.0.1 (fixed in commit a8492c9c5bc0a66c6999cb5a263545b32a4109df) contains a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the Emergency Number List decoding method. An attacker may send a NAS message containing an oversized Emergency Number List value to the MME to overwrite the stack with arbitrary bytes. An attacker with a cellphone connection to any base station managed by the MME may exploit this vulnerability without having to authenticate with the LTE core. |
| A post-authentication stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in SonicOS management allows a remote attacker to crash a firewall and potentially leads to code execution. |
| AVS Audio Converter 9.1.2.600 contains a stack overflow vulnerability that allows attackers to execute arbitrary code by manipulating the output folder text input. Attackers can craft a malicious payload that overwrites stack memory and triggers a bind shell on port 9999 when the 'Browse' button is clicked. |
| The HTTPD binary in multiple ZTE routers has a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in rsa_decrypt function. This function is an API wrapper for LUA to decrypt RSA encrypted ciphertext, the decrypted data is stored on the stack without checking its length. An authenticated attacker can get RCE as root by exploiting this vulnerability. |
| Domain Quester Pro 6.02 contains a stack overflow vulnerability that allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by overwriting Structured Exception Handler (SEH) registers. Attackers can craft a malicious payload targeting the 'Domain Name Keywords' input field to trigger an access violation and execute a bind shell on port 9999. |
| A stack buffer overflow has been identified in the AsIO3.sys driver. This vulnerability can be triggered by input manipulation, may leading to a system crash (BSOD) or other potentially undefined execution.
Refer to the 'Security Update for Armoury Crate App' section on the ASUS Security Advisory for more information. |
| Stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in Linux Ratfor 1.06 and earlier. When the software processes a file which is specially crafted by an attacker, arbitrary code may be executed. As a result, the attacker may obtain or alter information of the user environment or cause the user environment to become unusable. |
| B64dec 1.1.2 contains a buffer overflow vulnerability that allows attackers to execute arbitrary code by overwriting Structured Exception Handler (SEH) with crafted input. Attackers can leverage an egg hunter technique and carefully constructed payload to inject and execute malicious code during base64 decoding process. |
| A buffer overflow vulnerability has been reported to affect Media Streaming Add-On. The remote attackers can then exploit the vulnerability to modify memory or crash processes.
We have already fixed the vulnerability in the following version:
Media Streaming Add-on 500.1.1 and later |
| A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in D-Link DI-8003 16.07.26A1 due to improper handling of parameters in the /xwgl_ref.asp endpoint. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP GET request with excessively long strings in parameters name, en, user_id, shibie_name, time, act, log, and rpri. |
| ASDA-Soft Stack-based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability |
| A buffer overrun can be triggered in X.509 certificate verification, specifically in name constraint checking. Note that this occurs after certificate chain signature verification and requires either a CA to have signed a malicious certificate or for an application to continue certificate verification despite failure to construct a path to a trusted issuer. An attacker can craft a malicious email address in a certificate to overflow an arbitrary number of bytes containing the `.' character (decimal 46) on the stack. This buffer overflow could result in a crash (causing a denial of service). In a TLS client, this can be triggered by connecting to a malicious server. In a TLS server, this can be triggered if the server requests client authentication and a malicious client connects.

| A buffer overrun can be triggered in X.509 certificate verification, specifically in name constraint checking. Note that this occurs after certificate chain signature verification and requires either a CA to have signed the malicious certificate or for the application to continue certificate verification despite failure to construct a path to a trusted issuer. An attacker can craft a malicious email address to overflow four attacker-controlled bytes on the stack. This buffer overflow could result in a crash (causing a denial of service) or potentially remote code execution. Many platforms implement stack overflow protections which would mitigate against the risk of remote code execution. The risk may be further mitigated based on stack layout for any given platform/compiler. Pre-announcements of CVE-2022-3602 described this issue as CRITICAL. Further analysis based on some of the mitigating factors described above have led this to be downgraded to HIGH. Users are still encouraged to upgrade to a new version as soon as possible. In a TLS client, this can be triggered by connecting to a malicious server. In a TLS server, this can be triggered if the server requests client authentication and a malicious client connects. Fixed in OpenSSL 3.0.7 (Affected 3.0.0,3.0.1,3.0.2,3.0.3,3.0.4,3.0.5,3.0.6). |
| A vulnerability was detected in D-Link DIR-645 1.01/1.02/1.03. Impacted is the function hedwigcgi_main of the file /cgi-bin/hedwig.cgi. The manipulation results in stack-based buffer overflow. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploit is now public and may be used. This vulnerability only affects products that are no longer supported by the maintainer. |
| Bluetooth ACPI Drivers provided by Dynabook Inc. contain a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability. An attacker may execute arbitrary code by modifying certain registry values. |
| Memory corruption while processing a frame request from user. |
| V-SFT versions 6.2.10.0 and prior contain a stack-based buffer overflow in VS6ComFile!CV7BaseMap::WriteV7DataToRom. Opening a crafted V7 file may lead to arbitrary code execution on the affected product. |
| V-SFT versions 6.2.10.0 and prior contain a stack-based buffer overflow in VS6ComFile!CSaveData::_conv_AnimationItem. Opening a crafted V7 file may lead to arbitrary code execution on the affected product. |
| A vulnerability was identified in Trendnet TEW-657BRM 1.00.1. The affected element is the function add_apcdb of the file /setup.cgi. The manipulation of the argument mac_pc_dba leads to stack-based buffer overflow. The attack can be initiated remotely. The exploit is publicly available and might be used. The vendor confirms, that "[t]he product in question (...) has been discontinued and end of life since June 23, 2011, that is more than 14 years ago. We no longer provide support for this product, so we are not able to confirm the vulnerabilities. We will make an announcement on our website's product support page and notify customers who registered their products with us." This vulnerability only affects products that are no longer supported by the maintainer. |
