CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: consider that tail calls invalidate packet pointers
Tail-called programs could execute any of the helpers that invalidate
packet pointers. Hence, conservatively assume that each tail call
invalidates packet pointers.
Making the change in bpf_helper_changes_pkt_data() automatically makes
use of check_cfg() logic that computes 'changes_pkt_data' effect for
global sub-programs, such that the following program could be
rejected:
int tail_call(struct __sk_buff *sk)
{
bpf_tail_call_static(sk, &jmp_table, 0);
return 0;
}
SEC("tc")
int not_safe(struct __sk_buff *sk)
{
int *p = (void *)(long)sk->data;
... make p valid ...
tail_call(sk);
*p = 42; /* this is unsafe */
...
}
The tc_bpf2bpf.c:subprog_tc() needs change: mark it as a function that
can invalidate packet pointers. Otherwise, it can't be freplaced with
tailcall_freplace.c:entry_freplace() that does a tail call. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
cachefiles: Fix NULL pointer dereference in object->file
At present, the object->file has the NULL pointer dereference problem in
ondemand-mode. The root cause is that the allocated fd and object->file
lifetime are inconsistent, and the user-space invocation to anon_fd uses
object->file. Following is the process that triggers the issue:
[write fd] [umount]
cachefiles_ondemand_fd_write_iter
fscache_cookie_state_machine
cachefiles_withdraw_cookie
if (!file) return -ENOBUFS
cachefiles_clean_up_object
cachefiles_unmark_inode_in_use
fput(object->file)
object->file = NULL
// file NULL pointer dereference!
__cachefiles_write(..., file, ...)
Fix this issue by add an additional reference count to the object->file
before write/llseek, and decrement after it finished. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nfs/blocklayout: Don't attempt unregister for invalid block device
Since commit d869da91cccb ("nfs/blocklayout: Fix premature PR key
unregistration") an unmount of a pNFS SCSI layout-enabled NFS may
dereference a NULL block_device in:
bl_unregister_scsi+0x16/0xe0 [blocklayoutdriver]
bl_free_device+0x70/0x80 [blocklayoutdriver]
bl_free_deviceid_node+0x12/0x30 [blocklayoutdriver]
nfs4_put_deviceid_node+0x60/0xc0 [nfsv4]
nfs4_deviceid_purge_client+0x132/0x190 [nfsv4]
unset_pnfs_layoutdriver+0x59/0x60 [nfsv4]
nfs4_destroy_server+0x36/0x70 [nfsv4]
nfs_free_server+0x23/0xe0 [nfs]
deactivate_locked_super+0x30/0xb0
cleanup_mnt+0xba/0x150
task_work_run+0x59/0x90
syscall_exit_to_user_mode+0x217/0x220
do_syscall_64+0x8e/0x160
This happens because even though we were able to create the
nfs4_deviceid_node, the lookup for the device was unable to attach the
block device to the pnfs_block_dev.
If we never found a block device to register, we can avoid this case with
the PNFS_BDEV_REGISTERED flag. Move the deref behind the test for the
flag. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: qla2xxx: Implement ref count for SRB
The timeout handler and the done function are racing. When
qla2x00_async_iocb_timeout() starts to run it can be preempted by the
normal response path (via the firmware?). qla24xx_async_gpsc_sp_done()
releases the SRB unconditionally. When scheduling back to
qla2x00_async_iocb_timeout() qla24xx_async_abort_cmd() will access an freed
sp->qpair pointer:
qla2xxx [0000:83:00.0]-2871:0: Async-gpsc timeout - hdl=63d portid=234500 50:06:0e:80:08:77:b6:21.

qla2xxx [0000:83:00.0]-28d8:0: qla24xx_handle_gpsc_event 50:06:0e:80:08:77:b6:21 DS 7 LS 6 rc 0 login 1|1 rscn 1|0 lid 5
BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 0000000000000004
IP: qla24xx_async_abort_cmd+0x1b/0x1c0 [qla2xxx]
Obvious solution to this is to introduce a reference counter. One reference
is taken for the normal code path (the 'good' case) and one for the timeout
path. As we always race between the normal good case and the timeout/abort
handler we need to serialize it. Also we cannot assume any order between
the handlers. Since this is slow path we can use proper synchronization via
locks.
When we are able to cancel a timer (del_timer returns 1) we know there
can't be any error handling in progress because the timeout handler hasn't
expired yet, thus we can safely decrement the refcounter by one.
If we are not able to cancel the timer, we know an abort handler is
running. We have to make sure we call sp->done() in the abort handlers
before calling kref_put(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
power: sequencing: fix NULL-pointer dereference in pwrseq_device_register()
If dev_set_name() fails in pwrseq_device_register(), we jump to the
err_put_pwrseq label before initializing pwrseq->targets.
pwrseq_release() will try to iterate over targets unconditionally and
subsequently dereference an invalid pointer. Move the call to
dev_set_name() after the list head is initialized. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dmaengine: ti: k3-udma-glue: fix NULL dereference in k3_udma_glue_release_rx_chn()
If devm_kcalloc() for rx_chn->flows fails in a channel request function,
the error path calls k3_udma_glue_release_rx_chn(), which dereferences
the NULL rx_chn->flows pointer in k3_udma_glue_release_rx_flow().
Skip the flow release loop in k3_udma_glue_release_rx_chn() when
rx_chn->flows is not allocated.

| Assimp through 6.0.5 contains a NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the Ogre3D importer that allows attackers to crash applications via unvalidated bone indices in OgreStructs.cpp. Attackers can supply a crafted .mesh and .skeleton file referencing a missing bone, causing BoneById() to return null and crash the host process. |
| MongoDB Server's collection validation feature may not properly handle certain expressions stored in a validator. In some cases, this can cause the server process to stop running when a document is later inserted. The behavior can occur for authenticated users with write access. |
| OpenPrinting CUPS before 2.4.20 contains a NULL pointer dereference in cupsdCheckJobs() when a job marked job-held-on-create refers to a temporary printer that has been automatically deleted. Temporary-printer cleanup can remove the destination without canceling its held jobs, and the scheduler dereferences the NULL result of cupsdFindDest() while checking holding_new_jobs. This terminates cupsd and interrupts all queues managed by that process. In some plausible scenarios, an unprivileged submission can trigger this. |
| Substance3D - Designer is affected by a NULL Pointer Dereference vulnerability that could result in an application denial-of-service. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to crash the application, leading to a denial-of-service condition. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. |

| libvterm through 0+bzr726, as used in Vim and other products, mishandles certain out-of-memory conditions, leading to a denial of service (application crash), related to screen.c, state.c, and vterm.c. |
| An issue was discovered in JasPer 2.0.14. There is a NULL pointer dereference in the function jp2_decode in libjasper/jp2/jp2_dec.c, leading to a denial of service. |
| FreeRDP from 2.0.0 before 3.32.0 contains a null pointer dereference vulnerability that allows malicious RDP servers to crash clients by sending out-of-lifecycle serial IRPs. Attackers can send IRP_MJ_READ or IRP_MJ_WRITE before create or after close, causing CommReadFile or CommWriteFile to dereference a null handle and terminate clients using Linux serial redirection. |
| FreeRDP versions from 3.0.0 before 3.32.0 contain a null pointer dereference in the rdpsnd channel when a fragment sets CHANNEL_FLAG_LAST without CHANNEL_FLAG_FIRST. A malicious RDP server can send a malformed rdpsnd PDU on a fresh channel to crash the client and cause denial of service. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
optee: ffa: Add NULL check in optee_ffa_lend_protmem
Sashiko (locally) reports a possible null dereference under memory
pressure due to the lack of validation of the allocated pointer.
Fix that by adding the missing check. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
accel/amdxdna: reject user command submission without a command BO
amdxdna_drm_submit_execbuf() passes the user-supplied command BO handle
straight into amdxdna_cmd_submit() with drv_cmd == NULL. When the handle
is AMDXDNA_INVALID_BO_HANDLE (0), the block that fetches job->cmd_bo is
skipped, leaving it NULL, and no check rejects it on the user path (the
!job->cmd_bo guard lives inside the != INVALID branch).
The job is then armed and pushed to the DRM scheduler.
aie2_sched_job_run() takes the drv_cmd == NULL path and calls
amdxdna_cmd_set_state(job->cmd_bo) -> amdxdna_gem_vmap(NULL) ->
to_gobj(NULL)->dev, a NULL pointer dereference in the drm_sched worker.
A process with access to the accel node on a system with a probed AMD NPU
can trigger a kernel oops with a single AMDXDNA_EXEC_CMD ioctl
(cmd_handles = 0).
Only internal driver commands (SYNC_DEBUG_BO / ATTACH_DEBUG_BO)
legitimately pass AMDXDNA_INVALID_BO_HANDLE, and they always set drv_cmd.
Reject the invalid handle for user submissions (drv_cmd == NULL) at the
submit choke point so every user path is covered.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
cachefiles: Fix error return when vfs_mkdir() fails
When vfs_mkdir() fails, the error code is not extracted from the
returned error pointer. This causes mkdir_error to be reached with
ret=0, which leads to returning ERR_PTR(0) (NULL) instead of a
proper error pointer.
Fix this by extracting the error code from the error pointer when
vfs_mkdir() fails. |
